Love is Real.
So it was one to those general admission shows, but what a show it was! It sure was hot was hot down close. My friend and I had to retreat. Very good move!! I will always remember our time.

Not-so-great vocals
An average show, though the vocals (particularly Bob) aren't up to other shows in this year. There isn't much inspiring in the first set. The highlight of the show is the jam (called Space here) before the slow Iko. The jam is top Dead. After Iko we get a surprise Morning Dew, which they hadn't played much in recent years. This was only the 5th time they had played it since the end of 1977. Jerry's vocals on this tune don't match the quality of his guitar emotional playing here, of which there is amble quantity.
The mix is subpar for a soundboard, and may be masking some of the quality of this show (I haven't heard the audience recording.) There's also a slight hiss.

Hmmm...Sugaree
Although I was at the 3/25/85 Springfield, MA show, I dig this Sugaree more than any other. The 6/4 and 4/4 interchange during the third solo is nothing short of spectacular.
Great song list, great playing. Loving this SBD, although, in some ways, the AUD tape on this site is a bit more exciting.

I was there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!
Out of the 50 or so shows I have seen, this was the best. It was general admission and I was right in front of Jerry(1st row). The whole show was awesome, especially iko>morning dew>sugar mags. The only bad part was everyone pushing from the back. We were packed in like sardines. Oh yes, I almost bumped into Jerry on the way out when he was getting into his limo. What a long strange trip it has been.

Skip to boardd and go for the AUD
This show smokes! The SBD is too thin. First set China/Rider is always a good thing and you will want to be able to hear the roof blow off! The AUD is much richer IMHO. Enjoy.

This is it!!!
Finally after almost 25 years of waiting for the SB. My old aud master just couldn't do this show justice. By Sugaree Jerry is already in the groove & they are having a rockin' time. This is the first Dew I saw & it still brings shivers up my spine everytime I hear it....Get this show!

Thank You for posting This Show
This was my first show!!! I remember it knocking my socks off !!!this recording is super cosidering it did not exist except in the early 80's on Radio Shack chrome tapes circulating at Oswego State all hissy. This was all a 17 year old kid needed after 8 weeks as a camp counselor and the Director playing Shakedown Street all summer.
Thanks for the turn on Dave Law and Mark Eiseburg

Great set but...
This was the 1st Dead I downloaded from this site. The music is obviously great but there seems to be a lot of hiss on the recording. Don't know if this from the FLAC format or the multiple sources, but the show at:
gd77-12-27.sbd.cotsman.19288.sbeok.shnf_shn
seems to have a much better sound quality (possibly becasue it's Shortened instead of FLAC? or just less sources?). Anyway a great site, can see spending a lot of time checkign out the collections.

Hey Now!!!!!
Wow, where did this come from? I thought they said there was no complete soundboard of this show in the vault. What I remember of this GA show standing in the second row of people from the stage is that it was hot and crowded. People pushing from side to side as well as from the rear. The music speaks for itself. The Aiko out of space was a shock, but the first note of Dew took my breath away. Was it really 25 years ago?

Nice Set List
It is a testament to the power and genius of this band that we are still transfixed by performances that did indeed occur 25 years past...
This is a nice sounding show, with a great song selection... Often you run into those shows where the setlist looks great on paper, but sometimes the show does not meet expectations: Not the case here.
My major critique would be that the recording volume is pretty low...and Phil is a bit low in the mix. But the recording itself is excellent.
This is a gem...
